4/7/2025, magazine shreds taped on paper
This was another class assignment. As the opening assignment of an art class, I was instructed to recreate an emotion/feeling with no words or imagery, purely shapes and colors. I decided nostalgia was outside the normal handful of emotions most would choose, so I went out a bought 3 magazines, and got to work, zero plan or any ideas. I wanted this to be my most abstract piece I’ve ever made, but my most clear in concept. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what is the key element of this one. Between the texture, color, and medium, it all comes together to convey the title of the piece, “nostalgia.”
