This project was special. As my final for a figure drawing class, my professor’s prompt was to convey relationships through the figure. I thought, what better way to show connection than a hug? I was inspired by the album cover for Brockhampton’s ‘GINGER,’ and the raw honesty of that album. I took a lot of time to reflect for this assignment. I reflected on all my relationships with all the people in my life, platonic and romantic, and conveying my feelings emotionally and physically. I ultimately decided I wanted to convey the feeling of a hug. In this series, the key elements to look out for are the sequence and the figures. The emphasis is on the people, and the feelings conveyed through their actions.
